I’ve been a bit addicted to PC building channels on YouTube lately, and often have then running in the background when I am working. One of those channels is the Toasty Bros …
Today they released a “Budget $500 Gaming PC” build and I thought I would compare the price to what I can get here in Australia. The Toasty Bros used Amazon for their price comparison, so I’ll do the same and give you the total price below their video:
So the system that they built for $500 USD was:
- Ryzen 5 2600
- Gigabyte B450M DS3H
- MSI GTX 1650 Super
- HyperX Fury 16GB 3200Mhz DDR4
- Inland Premium M.2 256GB
- Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L
- Thermaltake Smart 500w 80+ Certified PSU
- RGB LED Strip
Let’s add it up on Amazon Australia and see what we come up with …
- Ryzen 5 2600 – $212
- Gigabyte B450M DS3H – $122
- MSI Gaming GTX 1650 Super – $287
- HyperX Fury 16GB 3200Mhz – $139
- Silicon Power 256GB NVMe M.2 – $60
- Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L – $79
- Thermaltake Smart 500w 80+ Certified PSU – $76
- RGB LED Strip – $9
Okay, so the total price here in Australia from Amazon is $984 AUD! With today’s conversion that comes to $684, and that’s assuming that you already have Amazon Prime with the free shipping.
PC’s Cost 37% More in Australia than in the USA!
This definitely highlights to me why the used PC market is to strong in Australia, and YouTube channels like Tech Yes City that does a lot of used parts builds is also so popular.
